Andorra (French post): village Pau

I received nice postcard of village Pau in Andorra. Postal services in Andorra are unique in that they are not operated by the country itself, but by its two larger neighbouring countries, Spain and France. This is a legacy of the centuries of de facto control exercised by those two countries over Andorra. Correos of Spain and La Poste of France operate side by side. Both postal administrations issue their own postage stamps for use in Andorra featuring unique designs. These are used for international correspondence, as postal service within Andorra is free.

This postcard is sent through French post system in Andorra with stamps:
Christmas, issued on 28.11.2014.
The 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Esteve Albert, issued on 08.11.2014.

Thank you Wolfgang!

Postcard from Andorra with stamps from both postal administrations

I received my first postcards from Andorra, and one of them with stamps from both postal administrations: Correos of Spain and La Poste of France. Postal services in Andorra are unique in that they are not operated by the country itself, but by its two larger neighboring countries, Spain and France. This is a legacy of the centuries of de facto control exercised by those two countries over Andorra.

First two stamps are from La Poste:
Coat of arms of Andorra, issued on 02.01.2010.
Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), issued on 03.08.1985.
And third stamp is from Correos:
Christmas Stamp , issued on 06.12.1984.

On front side of postcard you can see Pal, village in Andorra, located in the parish of La Massana 4 km west of the town of La Massana, close to the border with Spain at Tor, Pallars. Its population, as of 2013, was of 235.

Both stamps on second card are from La Poste:
Coat of arms, stone carving, at the old town hall of Andorra, issued on 28.03.1987.
Wild Boar (Sus scrofa), issued on 16.09.1989.
