Leonard Cohen on registered jumbo cover from Canada

Born in 1934, Cohen was an award-winning poet during his days at McGill University. More poetry and two novels followed after he graduated, including Beautiful Losers in 1966. The following year, Cohen launched a new career in music with an appearance at the Newport Folk Festival and the release of his debut album, Songs of Leonard Cohen. In 1984, Cohen released the album Various Positions. It features “Hallelujah,” his most popular and most covered song. A member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Cohen has also been honoured with multiple JUNO awards and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Canada Post decided to issue set of stamps in his honor on 21.9.2019. There is also many other stamps, including five Star Trek stamps, English queen, Christmas stamps, white tailed deer, set Mail delivery...

Canada's northernmost post office: Eureka - "The Garden Spot of the Arctic"

There's many interesting post offices in Canada, and this is one of them,  Eureka - "The Garden Spot of the Arctic".Eureka is a small research base on Fosheim Peninsula, Ellesmere Island, Qikiqtaaluk Region, in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. It is located on the north side of Slidre Fiord, which enters Eureka Sound farther west. Eureka was founded on April 11, 1947, as part of a requirement to set up a network of Arctic weather stations. On this date, 100 tonnes of supplies were airlifted to a promising spot on Ellesmere Island, and five prefabricated Jamesway huts were constructed. Regular weather observations began on January 1, 1948. The station has expanded over the years. At its peak, in the 1970s, at least fifteen staff were on site; in 2005, it reported a permanent population of zero with at least 8 staff on a continuous rotational basis. Of course, there is also post office which cancel your mail with this beautiful postmarks.

Postcard from Heart's Content, Canada

Heart's Content is an incorporated town in Trinity Bay on the Bay de Verde Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The natural harbor that makes up the town is located on the east side of Trinity Bay and it is built along the northeast side and the southeast base of this harbor. Heart's Content is another small Canadian town with nice pictorial postmark.

My friend Trevor sent this Star Trek postcard dedicated to classic episode Amok time, and you can say this postmark and card are matching, cause plot of this episode is: "Suffering through his first infliction of pon farr, the Vulcan biological mating urge, Spock must return to Vulcan to marry his betrothed or he will die. " Nice matching, mate!

Star Trek postcard sent from Orion, Canada

Orion is a hamlet in Alberta, Canada. The hamlet is located approximately 78 kilometers south of Medicine Hat along Highway 61. You can see wonderful postmark (ruined with machine cancellation) with constellation Orion! Orion is a prominent constellation located on the celestial equator and visible throughout the world. It is one of the most conspicuous and recognizable constellations in the night sky. It was named after Orion, a hunter in Greek mythology. Its brightest stars are the supergiants: blue-white Rigel (Beta Orionis) and red Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis).

This postmark is perfect match for another Star Trek postcard in my collection, this time dedicated to episode "A piece of the Action". You can see trailer for episode bellow.

Star Trek: Mirror, Mirror, sent from Mirror, Canada

Mirror is a hamlet in Lacombe County, central Alberta, Canada. It was named for The Daily Mirror of London, England. Founded in 1870, Mirror was incorporated as a village on July 12, 1912 and remained a village until January 1, 2004, when it was dissolved to become a hamlet under the jurisdiction of Lacombe County.

This Star Trek postcard is dedicated to classic episode Mirror, mirror, and it's sent with that fantastic matching postmark.

Registered jumbo cover from USA

I received registered jumbo cover from Miami, Florida, with very cool gifts inside. This cover was stuck very long on customs, they probably played with one of the gifts lol! Mike used interesting high value stamps on cover: Statue of Freedom stamps (recess print), issued on 27.6.2018. and highest value stamp from set Waves, issued on 1.12.2012.

Inside cover was this replica of Star Trek communicator!

The communicator is a fictional device used for voice communication in the fictional universe of Star Trek. As seen in at least two instances, the Original Series episodes "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" and "Day of the Dove," it can also serve as an emergency signaling device/beacon, similar to a transponder. The communicator allows direct contact between individuals or via a ship's communication system.

Inside cover was also two sets of stamps. This one is The History of Hockey (joint Issue with Canada), issued on 20.10.2017.

Second sheet is The Art of magic, printed in lenticular technique. This wonderful minisheet is issued on 7.8.2018.

Postcard from Vulcan, Canada

This is another postcard from Vulcan, Canada. Vulcan is a town in the prairies of southern Alberta, Canada, within Vulcan County. It is located on Highway 23, midway between the cities of Calgary and Lethbridge. The population of the town was 1,836 in 2011. Now known as the "Official Star Trek Capital of Canada," Vulcan has a Tourism building made to look like a landed space station, a statue of the Original Series Enterprise, and other Star Trek themed attractions, as well and postcards, as you can see here.

Star Trek: The Trouble with Tribbles, with cancellation from Moonbeam, Ontario

"The Trouble with Tribbles" is the fifteenth episode of the second season of the American science fiction television series Star Trek. In the episode, the starship Enterprise arrives at Deep Space Station K7 to guard a consignment of grain bound for Sherman's Planet. On arrival, a trader named Cyrano Jones gives Lt. Uhura a tribble, a small, furry alien lifeform, with dramatic consequences.

This postcard is sent with awesome cancellation from Moonbeam, Ontario. The name "Moonbeam" is attributed to early pioneers who allegedly witnessed flashing lights falling from the sky, which they called "moonbeams". These lights fell down or reflected in a creek that flows west from Strickland to Rémi Lake and was called Moonbeam Creek. These lights could have been Northern Lights that often appear with the moon light.

Another suggestion is that the name came from the passengers on the Transcontinental Railway, who would be traveling for many miles through dark forests and when they came to the natural clearing near Moonbeam would be struck by the brilliance of the moon-lit snow. Nevertheless, there is no documented proof of the exact source of this name.

Star Trek: Enterprise, with cancellation from Vulcan, Canada

I received another Star Trek postcard from Vulcan, Canada. This one is dedicated to Star Trek: Enterprise, the sixth series in the Star Trek franchise. It served as a prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series. Set in the 22nd century a hundred years before the events of The Original Series, and just prior to the formation of the United Federation of Planets, the series follows the adventures of the Enterprise, Earth's first starship capable of traveling at warp five.

My friend sent me inside lot of wonderful Canadian stamps, and i received once again one of the Star Trek minisheets. I have this stamps in self-adhesive variant, but this sheet have classic gum. It's part of the set issued on 5.5.2016. There's a fluorescent frame on each stamp.

Another wonderful minisheet, dedicated to my favorite sport - The 50th Anniversary of F1 in Canada, issued on 16.5.2017. This stamps also have fluorescent frame.

This is minisheet The 100th Anniversary of Montreal Canadiens, issued on 17.10.2009. Using an action-oriented printing process called Motionstamp technology, the three stamps on the souvenir sheet feature replays of the historic 500th goals of Maurice Richard, Jean Béliveau, and Guy Lafleur, while playing for the Canadiens.

Because you can't see motion on this sheet when is scanned, i found this nice GIF to show you how this look like.

Scary and beautiful sharks are on this sheet issued on 13.7.2018. Beautiful design by Andrew Perro.

This circular miniature sheet of 8 stamps is Chinatown Gates, issued on 1.5.2013. It shows Chinatown gates in Canadian cities, and sheet is in shape of traditional Chinese coin.

A nice flower minisheet with daisies, issued on 1.3.2017. Nice design by Debbie Adams.

And another minisheet with flowers, this time with two lotus flowers, Nelumbo nucifera and Nelumbo lutea, issued on 1.3.2018.

And for the end this fantastic minisheet, first from series three-part series Haunted Canada!     Alberta’s Ghost Bride, Saskatchewan’s St. Louis Ghost Train, Ontario’s Fort George, Quebec’s Château Frontenac and PEI’s Northumberland Strait beautifully painted in this gummed minisheet printed in offset lithography and with foil treatment for a special ghostly effect! This was issued on 16.6.2014.

Star Trek: Voyager, from Vulcan, Canada

I received one more official Star Trek postcard from Canada, and again with special cancellation from Vulcan post office. This time postcard is dedicated to Star Trek: Voyager. The series was created by Rick Berman, Michael Piller and Jeri Taylor, and is the fifth incarnation of Star Trek, which began with the original Star Trek series that was created by Gene Roddenberry. Voyager was produced for seven seasons, from 1995 to 2001, and is the first Star Trek TV series with a female captain, Kathryn Janeway (played by Kate Mulgrew), as the lead character.

Postcard is again cancelled with this beautiful postmark, and little bit ruined with stupid pen cancellation on this prepaid postcard. Somebody in Canada Post doesn't know how to do his job.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is a science fiction television series set in the Star Trek universe in the Milky Way galaxy, in the years 2369–2375. In contrast to other Star Trek TV shows, it primarily takes place on a space station rather than a starship, so as not to have two series with starships in the same time period; the series ran concurrently with Star Trek: The Next Generation during its first two seasons and with Star Trek: Voyager for the remainder of its run. The starship USS Defiant was introduced in season 3, but the Deep Space Nine space station remained the show's primary setting.

This is another official prepaid postcard by Canada Post, sent from Vulcan in Canada, with Spock on this beautiful special cancellation.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

This postcard is from set of five Star Trek postcards issued by Canada Post this year, together with second set of Star Trek stamps. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is a 1982 SF film directed by Nicholas Meyer and based on the 1960s television series Star Trek. The plot features Admiral James T. Kirk and the crew of the starship USS Enterprise facing off against the genetically engineered tyrant Khan Noonien Singh, a character who first appeared in the 1967 Star Trek episode "Space Seed". When Khan escapes from a 15-year exile to exact revenge on Kirk, the crew of the Enterprise must stop him from acquiring a powerful terraforming device named Genesis. The film is the beginning of a story arc that continues with the 1984 film Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and concludes with the 1986 film Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

I received a cover from USA with complete set Star Trek 50th Anniversary, issued on 02.09.2016. On September 8, 1966, Star Trek premiered. Centered on the interstellar voyages of the U.S.S. Enterprise, the prime-time television program's mission was to boldly go where no man has gone before. With an intricate futuristic setting, multicultural cast, and story lines that touched on social issues, Star Trek pushed past the boundaries of popular science fiction and became a worldwide phenomenon.

Canada: Mr. Spock postcard sent from Vulcan!

No, this postcard is not sent from planet Vulcan! It's sent from small town Vulcan in southern Alberta, Canada. The town's name has brought some attention that has helped it become a tourist attraction. In the Star Trek frachise it is the name of the homeworld of the Mr. Spock character and his fellow Vulcans. Capitalizing on this coincidence, the town has built a Star Trek–themed tourist station. Nearby is a replica of the starship Enterprise from Star Trek V, mounted on a pedestal which includes writing from Trek alien languages such as Klingon. The town has also created space-themed murals and signs, and hosts an annual community-wide Star Trek convention known as "Spock Days".

Very nice cancellations with matching stamp, part of the set Star Trek 50th Anniversary, issued on 05.05.2016. Other two stamps are Flag defenitives issued on 11.01.2010.
