First day covers and stamps from Myanmar

I received a registered cover from Myanmar. Inside was a few First day covers and mint stamps.

 

First FDC is The 70th Anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued on 17.03.2017. This is unofficial cover, printed only 10 pieces!

This FDC is also The 70th Anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but this is official issue.

Third FDC is The 69th Anniversary of Independence, issued on 04.01.2017.

Myanmar: Thatbyinnyu Temple

Thatbyinnyu Temple -Sabbannu or "the Omniscient", is a famous temple located in Bagan (formerly Pagan), built in the mid-12th century during the reign of King Alaungsithu.It is adjacent to Ananda Temple. Thatbyinnyu Temple is shaped like a cross, but is not symmetrical. The temple has two primary storeys, with the seated Buddha image located on the second storey.

Myanmar: Shwe Tha Lyaung

The Shwe Tha Lyaung Buddha is a reclining Buddha in the west side of Bago (Pegu), Myanmar. The Buddha, which has a length of 55 meters and a height of 16 meters, is believed to have been built in 994, during the reign of Mon King Migadepa. It was lost in 1757 when Pegu was pillaged. During British colonial rule, in 1880, the Shwethalyaung Buddha was rediscovered under a cover of jungle growth. Restoration began in 1881, and Buddha's mosaic pillows (on its left side) were added in 1930.

Myanmar: Yangoon City

Yangon is the capital of the Yangon Region of Myanmar. Yangon served as the capital of Myanmar until 2006, when the military government relocated the capital to the purpose-built city of Naypyidaw in central Myanmar. With over 7 million people, Yangon is Myanmar's largest city and is its most important commercial center.

Flag of Myanmar

My first postcard from Myanmar is a flag postcard. The current flag of Myanmar was adopted on 21 October 2010 to replace the former flag in use since 1974. The new flag was introduced along with implementing changes to the country's name, which were laid out in the 2008 Constitution. The design of the flag has three horizontal stripes of yellow, green and red with a five-pointed white star in the middle. The three colours of the stripes are meant to symbolise solidarity, peace and tranquility, and courage and decisiveness.
