Irish Postcrossing stamp on matching postcard

After i received postcard from Postcrossing meet-up dedicated to first Ireland's Postcrossing stamp, i also received Postcrossing stamp with matching postcard. First Irish Postcrossing stamp was issued on 5th October. It has been designed by Design HQ using an illustration by Cathy Dineen and features a colorful display of postcards being passed from person to person around the world.

Ireland is an island in the North Atlantic. It is separated from Great Britain to its east by the North Channel, the Irish Sea, and St George's Channel. Ireland is the second-largest island of the British Isles, the third-largest in Europe, and the twentieth-largest on Earth. The name Ireland derives from Old Irish Eriu. This in turn derives from Proto-Celtic Iveriu, which is also the source of Latin Hibernia. Iveriu derives from a root meaning "fat, prosperous."

New Postcrossing stamp on postcard from Ireland

I received a postcard from Postcrossing meet-up in Ireland dedicated to first Ireland's Postcrossing stamp. On postcard you can see map of Ireland and some of Postcrossing stamps issued in other countries. I have most of them and i will try to find missing ones, but i can't see clearly from which country is last one.

J. P. Wynne High School from Breaking Bad

I have received another fine postcard from one of my favorite TV shows Breaking Bad!

J. P. Wynne High School is a public high school located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Walter White was formerly employed as a chemistry teacher at the school. It is also the school where Walter White Jr. and Jesse Pinkman attended as a student.

After the Wayfarer 515 disaster, the school held an assembly to discuss the tragedy. Several students and faculty spoke about their feelings.

Walt took a lot of time off from teaching while battling lung cancer and expanding his meth production. Walt's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and when talking with the assistant principal, Carmen Molina, he attempts to kiss her, which results in him being placed on "indefinite leave".

The Easter Rising was an armed insurrection in Ireland during Easter Week, April 1916. The Rising was launched by Irish republicans to end British rule in Ireland and establish an independent Irish Republic while the United Kingdom was heavily engaged in World War I. It was the most significant uprising in Ireland since the rebellion of 1798, and the first armed action of the Irish revolutionary period.

Almost 500 people were killed in the Easter Rising. About 54% were civilians, 30% were British military and police, and 16% were Irish rebels. More than 2,600 were wounded. Many of the civilians were killed as a result of the British using artillery and heavy machine guns, or mistaking civilians for rebels. Others were caught in the crossfire in a crowded city. The shelling and the fires it caused left parts of inner city Dublin in ruins.

Beautiful postcard of Dublin!

Dublin is the capital and largest city of Ireland. Dublin is in the province of Leinster on Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey. Founded as a Viking settlement, the Kingdom of Dublin became Ireland's principal city following the Norman invasion. The city expanded rapidly from the 17th century and was briefly the second largest city in the British Empire before the Act of Union in 1800. Following the partition of Ireland in 1922, Dublin became the capital of the Irish Free State, later renamed Ireland.

Saturday Night Fever

Saturday Night Fever is a 1977 American dance film directed by John Badham and starring John Travolta as Tony Manero, a young man whose weekends are spent visiting a local Brooklyn discotheque; Karen Lynn Gorney as Stephanie Mangano, his dance partner and eventual friend; and Donna Pescow as Annette, Tony's former dance partner and would-be girlfriend. While in the disco, Tony is the king. His care-free youth and weekend dancing help him to temporarily forget the reality of his life: a dead-end job, clashes with his unsupportive and squabbling parents, racial tensions in the local community, and his associations with a gang of macho friends.

Ireland: Browneshill Dolmen

The Brownshill Dolmen is a megalithic portal tomb situated 3 km east of Carlow, in County Carlow, Ireland. The capstone at Brownshill, weighing an estimated 100 metric tons, is reputed to be the heaviest in Europe. The tomb is listed as a National Monument.

It was built between 4000 and 3000 BC by some of the earliest farmers to inhabit the island. It is also known as Brownshill Portal Tomb, so-called because the entrance to the burial chamber was flanked by two large upright stones (orthostats) supporting the granite capstone, or roof, of the chamber. The capstone is thought to have been covered by an earthen mound and a gate stone blocked the entrance. At Brownshill both portal stones and the gate-stone are still in situ; the capstone lies on top of the portals and gate-stone and slopes to the ground away from the entrance. Not much additional information is available on Brownshill because it has never been excavated. A fourth upright stands close by and could be the remains of a forecourt. The extent of the chamber cannot be determined.
