Domestic Birds on cover from Moldova

I received cover from Moldova with complete stamp set Domestic Birds, issued on 23.8.2018. Four featured birds on stamp are duck, goose, rooster and turkey. Far from exotic birds, but stamps are beautifully designed by Vladimir Melnic.

Europa CEPT 2019 National Birds on two First day covers from Moldova

A set of 2 stamps with White Stork (Ciconia ciconia) and Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) is issued this year for Europa theme by Post of Moldova on 19.4.2019.
The white stork is a large bird in the stork family Ciconiidae. Its plumage is mainly white, with black on its wings. Adults have long red legs and long pointed red beaks, and measure on average 100–115 cm from beak tip to end of tail, with a 155–215 cm wingspan. The white stork is a long-distance migrant, wintering in Africa from tropical Sub-Saharan Africa to as far south as South Africa, or on the Indian subcontinent. When migrating between Europe and Africa, it avoids crossing the Mediterranean Sea and detours via the Levant in the east or the Strait of Gibraltar in the west, because the air thermals on which it depends for soaring do not form over water.

The golden eagle is one of the best-known birds of prey in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the most widely distributed species of eagle. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. These birds are dark brown, with lighter golden-brown plumage on their napes. Immature eagles of this species typically have white on the tail and often have white markings on the wings. Golden eagles use their agility and speed combined with powerful feet and massive, sharp talons to snatch up a variety of prey, mainly hares, rabbits, and marmots and other ground squirrels.

This two covers were sent together, but i received them separately in span of 3 weeks. Some idiot in Serbian post thought this is for Customs and sent one cover to them. When they saw this cover, they postmarked this cover "Not for custom check" and sent back to post.

Map postcard from Gagauzia

Gagauzia or Gagauz Yeri is an autonomous region of Moldova. Its name comes from the Gagauz people. According to some theories, the Gagauz people descend from the Seljuq Turks who settled in Dobruja following the Anatolian Seljuq Sultan Izzeddin Keykavus II (1236–1276). They may be descended from Pechenegs, Uz (Oghuz) and Cuman (Kipchak) peoples. According to other theories, Gagauz are descendants of Kutrigur Bulgarians. In the official Gagauz museum, a plaque mentions that one of the two main theories is that they descend from the Bulgars.

Support for the Soviet Union remained high in Gagauzia, with a referendum in March 1991 returning an almost unanimous vote in favor of remaining part of the USSR. Many Gagauz supported the Moscow coup attempt in August 1991, and Gagauzia declared itself an independent republic on 19 August 1991. On 2 February 2014, Gagauzia held a referendum. An overwhelming majority of voters opted for closer ties with Russia over EU integration. They also said they preferred the independence of Gagauzia if Moldova chooses to enter the EU.

Gagauzia doesn't have separate postal system, they use Moldovan post and Moldovan stamps.

Postcard from Transnistria

Transnistria, officially the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, is an unrecognised state which split off from Moldova after the dissolution of the USSR and mostly consists of a narrow strip of land between the river Dniester and the territory of Ukraine. Transnistria has been recognised only by three other mostly non-recognised states: Abkhazia, Artsakh, and South Ossetia. The region is considered by the UN to be part of Moldova.

After the dissolution of the USSR, tensions between Moldova and the breakaway Transnistrian territory escalated into a military conflict that started in March 1992 and was concluded by a ceasefire in July of the same year. As part of that agreement, a three-party (Russia, Moldova, Transnistria) Joint Control Commission supervises the security arrangements in the demilitarised zone, comprising twenty localities on both sides of the river. Although the ceasefire has held, the territory's political status remains unresolved: Transnistria is an unrecognised but de facto independent semi-presidential republic with its own government, parliament, military, police, postal system, currency and vehicle registration. Its authorities have adopted a constitution, flag, national anthem and coat of arms. It is the only country still using the hammer and sickle on its flag.

Even though PMR have it's own stamps, all their mail goes through Moldovan postal system, which don't recognize their stamps, so sender user regular Moldovan stamp when he sent this map postcard from Tiraspol, capital of PMR.

Europa 2018 Bridges on cover from Moldova

I received beautiful cover from Moldova, with set Europa 2018 Bridges. And this are for me most beautiful Europa stamps in 2018. First stamp is featuring the wooden suspension bridge over the Răut River, and second bridge is designed by Gustave Eiffel, completed in 1877, just three days before the outbreak of the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878. Bessarabia was then part of Russian Empire. Stamps are issued on 8.2.2018.

Postcard from Moldova

I received nice winter postcard from Moldova, it's a Valea Morilor park in Chisinau. Stamps on this postcard are rather interesting. Bigger stamps is In Memory of The "SMURD" Emergency Rescue Team, issued on 04.06.2017.  This issue of postage stamp is released to commemorate the members of the SMURD emergency rescue team, tragically died during the rescue mission on 02.06. 2016, in Haragis, Cantemir. Second stamp is Christmas stamp issued on 07.12.2017.

Flags of the World Series: Moldova

Moldova is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, bordered by Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east, and south (by way of the disputed territory of Transnistria). The capital city is Chișinău. The name "Moldova" derives from the Moldova River; the valley of this river served as a political center at the time of the foundation of the Principality of Moldavia in 1359. The origin of the name of the river remains unclear.

The first Moldova-Romania Postcrossing Meetup

The meetup was held on 29.07.2017. (Constitution Day) in Central Post Office of Moldova in Chişinău, and also is organized a collaborative exhibition of postcards from around the world.

 Moldavian Post designed nice special postmark for this meetup, and it fits quite well with this stamps dedicated to symbols of Moldova and capital city Chișinău. First stamp is Coat of Arms of the Municipality of Chişinău, issued on 07.03.2015, and second is Flag of Moldova, issued on 03.11.2010.

Moldova: Great stamps on postcard from Chișinău

I received a postcard from Moldova with two very nice stamps. First is mini sheet The 20th Anniversary of Independence of Moldova, issued on 27.08.2011. Second is EUROPA 2016 - Think Green, issued on 05.04.2016. That stamps is from set of two stamps, and i received earlier second stamp from this set. You can see that stamp on picture bellow. 

For me, this is one of the nicest Think Green stamp sets.

On this postcard you can see President's House in Chișinău, capital of Moldova. The President Palace is located in the Buiucani sector of Chișinău. It was constructed between 1984 and 1987 to the design of architects A. Zalțman and V. Iavorski. The distinctive building was originally the meeting place of the Supreme Soviet of the Moldavian SSR.

Maxicard from Moldova

My first postcard from Moldova is wonderful maxicard! Stamp on this card is from set of two stamps Zoological Gardens in Chişinău: Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia), issued on 18.05.2013.

The snow leopard is a large cat native to the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia. It is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Fewer than 2,500 individuals may be reproducing in the wild. As of 2016, estimates for the size of the global population vary from at least 4,080 to about 8,700 individuals.

 Stamp on backside is EUROPA - Think Green (from set of two), issued on 05.04.2016.
