Land camera on postcard from UK

We received this postcard randomly sent from Postcard united several months ago. It shows Land  camera from 1947. The camera, which became better known by the name of Land's company, Polaroid, was the first so-called instant camera. Using developer and fixer contained in sacs with the film and photographic paper in a layered packet, the first Polaroid camera could produce a black-and-white photo in 60 seconds.  After the exposure was made, the packet was pulled out of the camera, which squeezed the chemicals from their sacs and began the developing process.

Thank you, Rasa!

The stamps are illustrated by British artist Malcolm Tween who also designed the hugely popular Star Wars stamp set issued in 2015. United Kingdom: Star Wars 40th Anniversary

I finally managed to get this for my collection and I am very happy! The UK’s national post service company, Royal Mail, issued 18 Star Wars stamps on 20.10.2015. The stamps, illustrated by British artist Malcolm Tween, depict nine characters from the first six films and three from the forthcoming episode, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Each portrait is like a Jedi’s vision — showing the future, the past, new things, and different places from the legendary saga.

There is also a Miniature Sheet of six stamps featuring intricately detailed illustrations of iconic Star Wars vehicles, brought together against a backdrop of the dreaded Death Star.

Postcard from Wales

This is postcard from Wales, United Kingdom. This postcard is inspired by famous Welsh folk song Sospan Fach.  It is one of the best-known and most often sung songs in the Welsh language. The song is based on a verse written by Mynyddog in 1873 as part of his song Rheolau yr Aelwyd (Rules of the home).

English (literal translation)
Mary-Ann has hurt her finger,
And David the servant is not well.
The baby in the cradle is crying,
And the cat has scratched little Johnny.
A little saucepan is boiling on the fire,
A big saucepan is boiling on the floor,
And the cat has scratched little Johnny.
Little Dai the soldier,
Little Dai the soldier,
Little Dai the soldier,
And his shirt tail is hanging out.
Mary-Ann's finger has got better,
And David the servant is in his grave;
The baby in the cradle has grown up,
And the cat is "asleep in peace".
A little saucepan is boiling on the fire,
A big saucepan is boiling on the floor,
And the cat is "asleep in peace".
Little Dai the soldier,
Little Dai the soldier,
Little Dai the soldier,
And his shirt tail is hanging out.
Old Mary Jones went to the fair in Caerau,
To buy a tea set;
But Mary and her teacups ended up in a ditch,
By drinking rather too much "tea".
A little saucepan is boiling on the fire,
A big saucepan is boiling on the floor,
And the cat is "asleep in peace".

Darth Vader

This beautiful postcard from British Royal Mail depicts one of twelve Star Wars stamps issued on 2015-10-20. Darth Vader, born Anakin Skywalker, is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. Vader appears in the original trilogy as a pivotal figure, and his past as Anakin Skywalker is central to the prequel trilogy.

The character was created by George Lucas and has been portrayed by numerous actors. His appearances span the first six Star Wars films, and he is an important character in the Star Wars expanded universe of television series, video games, novels, literature and comic books. Originally a Jedi prophesied to bring balance to the Force, he falls to the dark side of the Force and serves the evil Galactic Empire at the right hand of his Sith master, Palpatine (also known as Darth Sidious). He is also the father of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa, and secret husband of Padmé Amidala.

Stamps:
Christmas (from set of eight), issued on 2015-11-03
Star Wars: Darth Vader (from set of twelve), issued on 2015-10-20

Thank You very much Alan!
