Shalom from Jerusalem

What a nice postcard from Israel! Camels are common only in south part of  Israel, where is desert. They are domesticated around 930 BC. This is the dromedary camel , also called the Arabian camel, with one hump on its back. Greek philosopher Aristotle was the first to describe the species, and the animal was given its current binomial name by Carl Linnaeus, a Swedish zoologist.

Stamps are Flowers - Red Gerbera, issued on 11.02.2014.

Thank you Nir!
